The leadership team at Northside believes the next faithful step for Northside is to begin raising funds toward the purchase of land here in North Albany that will, in time, become the future home of Northside Church.

Through prayer, study, and discussion, the Management Team (MT) believes that Northside will require a minimum of five acres. Our research suggests that this sort of land purchase will likely cost in the neighborhood of $750,000

God has been generous and gracious to Northside from the beginning.

To date, the Lord has provided $250,000 toward the purchase of land.

Northside has set three potential fundraising targets over the next year:

  • Our Faith Goal is $300,000
  • Our Dream Goal is $400,000
  • The Miraculous Goal is $500,000

That’s a great question! While we don’t have a piece of property lined up, we realize how difficult it is to purchase land here in North Albany. The overall objective is to be ready once the right opportunity presents itself. Land sells incredibly fast, often for all-cash offers, in North Albany. Attempting to raise funds after the right opportunity comes, would likely be too late.

We are committed to North Albany. We believe that the Lord has called us to establish His Church right here in this community. We are not looking outside of it.

As a part of this process, the MT will begin setting up what we will call a Land Acquisition Team (LAT).  This group will prayerfully research opportunities and host discussions with potential sellers as well as make recommendations to the MT. Once that team is established, its members will be made known to the congregation.

There are many reasons we believe the time to prepare is now.

  • The #1 and the most compelling reason is that we believe this is what the Lord is calling us to do. This one undergirds all that follows.
  • We believe acting now is a critical part of what it means to be ready!
  • We not only believe Northside is ready, we believe this is an incredible growth opportunity for us as a Church as we learn to seek Him, depend on Him, and see Him work in powerful ways.
  • If we have learned anything through the first two years of Northside, it’s that rented space is not dependable.
  • Northside is incredibly healthy. There is a strong foundation to work from.
  • We believe that it’s important to capitalize on Northside’s momentum and growth. These are truly exciting times at Northside Church.
  • We don’t believe that buying land will get any easier or less expensive than it currently is.

This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of establishing Northside’s footprint right here in North Albany.

In March 2022, Northside will start its Land Acquisition Campaign (LAC).

We want to invite you to start praying and fasting as you consider how God might use you to establish His Church in North Albany.

This is an ambitious goal for a Church our size and age. It will require prayer and sacrifice.

This will mean going over and above what you’re currently giving. Northside’s rent, bills, and ministry programs still have to function, in fact, our growth means they now cost more than ever. We cannot function without the generous giving of the people.

  • It could mean giving something up.
  • It could mean sacrificing something you love.
  • It could mean picking up some extra hours.

April 3rd will be our commitment Sunday, where we will do three important things.

  1. Pray as a Church.
  2. We will have the opportunity to make a one-time best firstfruits donation.
  3. We will have the opportunity to make an over and above year-long monthly commitment.

April 10th we will celebrate the gifts and commitments that have come in.

Q. How long will this fundraising campaign last?

A. One year.

Q. What is the timeframe to give?

A. April 3, 2022, through April 2, 2023.

Q. Who is in charge of looking for land?

A. The Management Team will appoint a Land Acquisition Team. They will search, research, and report to the Management team.

Q. Will the congregation get a say in the process?

A. The congregation will have access to the Land Acquisition Team. We will want to hear from you. The Management Team will make the ultimate decision.

Q. If we buy land, how long until we build on it?

A. There are a lot of factors involved. The leaders believe that our priority right now is being faithful with what we believe is the next step God is calling us to. We believe this is it. The timing of building will depend on the land we buy, the growth of Northside, the spiritual and financial health of Northside. God knows. It will likely be several years, but we will do our very best to listen and be faithful to what we believe the Lord is calling us to.

Q. When and how do I give?

A. We will start on April 3, 2022, but you can give at any time after that. You can give through the offering (make sure it’s clearly marked), by mailing it to our office, or on our website (make sure you select LAND in the menu).

Q. How do I decide what to give?

A. Pray! Spend time looking at finances and seeking the Lord’s wisdom and guidance. Consider things that could be sold or ways you could add to your income.

Q. What happens if I can’t make my commitment?

A. Be as faithful as you can, but sometimes things happen.

Q. How much are we trying to raise?

A. We have three target zones; $300K, $400K, and $500K. That amount is based on our research and in talking with realtors and others who have experience.

Q. What if we exceed our target?

A. Everything that comes in will be used toward acquiring land, preparing land, and eventually the building that will go on it.

Q. What if we don’t hit our target?

A. We will still move forward, but it will be at a slower pace than we are right now.

Q. What will NS do with the money as it is being raised? (Where will it be deposited?)

A. We will invest it with The Church Development Fund until land is found and we are ready to purchase.

Q. How does the LAC affect our current operating budget?

A. This is an over and above campaign. As long as people continue to give to the general fund as before, it shouldn’t impact it at all.

Q. I am a member… Why should I give?

A. This will be part of Northside’s legacy, and we want you in on it. This will be a place where we invite our friends and family. It will be a place where we will host guests. It will be a place that serves the community.

Q. I’m not a member or I’m new/visiting…Why should I participate?

A. We certainly wouldn’t want you to feel any obligation. We do believe that this is a rare opportunity to invest in establishing a needed Church in our community. We believe this will impact our community and God’s Kingdom far longer than we will be alive.

Q. Does this mean we are moving out of Oak Grove? (Is the relationship with Oak Grove still solid?)

A. Yes, we will eventually move, but it will be a while. Our relationship with the school is great.

Q. Will we keep the office downtown?

A. Yes. We don’t see us moving on from that anytime soon.

Q. Will we look outside of North Albany for land?

A. No

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Land Campaign. As we shared with you recently, we have begun the process of contracting the purchase of approximately 19 acres on Powers Ave. There are a few minor repairs the seller is completing before we can close on the property, which we are hoping to complete by the end of May. While the campaign has officially ended, if you made a pledge and have not completed it (and are able to do so), please continue as these funds will be used for land development costs once the closing happens.
