Small Groups

Find a place to connect with God, connect with others and grow your faith

Our Goal

Grow in Christ

Spiritual growth begins and ends with accepting the person and work of Jesus. Only when we are growing in obedience to and likeness of Jesus, will we experience the full and free life that God desires for us.

Connect with His Church

Once you've begun to grow Christ, you realize that Jesus didn't come just to deliver a promise of Heaven. He came to purchase us out of slavery to sin and death so that we can live the full and free life that God desires for us - and no just us, but all of those that follow Jesus. We learn, believe, grow and serve together. Jesus calls us His body - his hands and feet; representatives to the rest of the world.

Serve the Community

God has called his church to be involved in the lives of the community around them. Just as God promised Abraham that he would bless him and make him a blessing, God desires that the Church would gather as a blessed people and scatter as a blessing to people.

Our Curriculum

Northside small groups will have flexibility to discuss topics that are important to each group individually, but generally we will meet during the week to discuss the most recent sermon content and context.

Why?

It has become common practice for churches to meet weekly around worship and a sermon, leave after an hour or so, come back a week later and have completely forgotten what had been taught the week prior. What if we actually did business with the things we were learning? What if the entire church was on board with becoming serious about all of the same things and we moved systematically together through Jesus’ model for a Christ-centered life? What would that church look like? What would that community begin to look like?

That is what we hope to find out!

Letter from The Penners

Hello!

I am so excited to partner with you as you pour into the lives of your sweet children. Like mentioned earlier I am a firm believer that God has placed you as the primary influencer in the faith of your children. God saves his children in all sorts of ways but he designed the family structure to be the primary vehicle to tell the next generation of the wonders he has done (Psalm 78:1-8) so that your children and their children after them may fear the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:1-9). To most of us this charge may be very intimidating, overwhelming or even terrifying as we all at one time or another (or all the time!) feel extremely inadequate. That’s where the Holy Spirit comes in! He is there to help us as we teach and model for our kids and ultimately, He is the one that does the work in the hearts of our children.

Our desire is to come alongside you as parents, to encourage, equip and support you, as well as reinforce biblical truths as we teach and interact with your children.
